In Term 3 we had an exciting time learning a story in French linked to our topics. The children did a fantastic job of retelling stories with actions and words and enjoyed activities linked to key vocabulary and grammar. This means that even though we won’t be having more French lessons until term 5, all of the vocabulary that we have learnt can still be revised and used as part of our ongoing learning. You will find bellow the story in French with key vocabulary in bold and an English translation of course. Maybe you aspiring linguist will want to give you a rendition, will a little encouragement!
Les Trois Petits Cochons
Voici trois petit cochons
Le premier a une maison en paille
Le deuxième a une maison en bois
Le troisième a une maison en brique
Le grand méchant loup veut manger les cochons
Il souffle et il souffle et la maison de paille tombe
Il souffle et il souffle et la maison en bois tombe
Il souffle et il souffle mais la maison en brique ne tombe pas
Le loup a toujours faim !
The Three Little Pigs
Here are three little pigs
The first one has a house made of straw
The second one has a house made of wood
The third one has a house made of bricks
The big bad wolf wants to eat the pigs
He blows and he blows and the straw house falls
He blows and he blows and the wooden house falls
He blows and he blows but the brick house does not fall
The wolf is still hungry!
